About Us

The branch covers two wards of the Amber Valley District Council area - which is a part of Derbyshire County Council. Please click on the links to find out more about the role of the two Councils and also see our pages on 'Our Councils' and 'National Government'.
What does the Branch do?
The Kilburn and District Branch (BLP) is based on the ward boundaries for the election of councillors. You can find more information about the wards on the 'Local Councils' link or by clicking here.
A lot of Labour Party activity takes place at branch level, such as choosing candidates to stand in the local Council elections, and helping out with local and national elections. There are also social activities and the chance to go to talks and discussions about lots of different topics. Click here to find out about our local events.
The Branch also has representatives on the Constituency (CLP). This is made up of several branches and based on the electoral area for the election of MPs. Via our CLP, we can choose members from our area to represent us at annual conference and to help select our parliamentary candidate.
